|
 |
America's early trade with china set the scene for
our growth as a world economic power.
Exotic and distant, China was the scene of America's
first international commerce. Spearheading the American
trade with China, the Forbes family was an important
part of a network of prominent families that shaped
American maritime and economic history.
Imagine the adventure of sailing to China in the 19th
century to trade goods. Learn the story of tea,
porcelain and silk. See the treasures brought back from
China. |
| "Your staff was
well informed and understanding of the needs of
our curriculum. The material covered during the
trip aligns directly to the Massachusetts
Department of Education Frameworks of Grade 4
study of China.....The trip was as meaningful
for the adults as well as for the children."
