Richard O’ Mara will be this year’s recipient of the Forbes House Museum’s fifth annual Civic Leadership award at its Keechong Dinner on Wednesday, October 15.

The award honors individuals who embody the Forbes family legacy of civic involvement and philanthropy. The museum staff and trustees are pleased to recognize O’ Mara for his many contributions as an avid community supporter and owner of Cedar Grove Gardens.

“Over many years, Richard has been involved in a wide range of organizations vital to our community, including Beth Israel Hospital–Milton, the Neponset River Watershed Association, Dot Out and the Lower Mills Merchants Association,” says Heidi Vaughan, the museum’s executive director.  “We’re delighted to honor someone who’s contributed so much as an active citizen and business owner.”

The Keechong Dinner will be at Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy. The annual event raises essential funds to support the museum’s educational and family programming, including Lincoln Day, Heritage Music Series, author events and rotating exhibitions. On October 15, the museum also will recognize longtime Forbes House volunteer Joann Sacco.
